Packaging & Shipping Instructions For Recycling

If you have not done so already, please fill out our E-Z quote form to receive you comprehensive quote from Battery Solutions, Inc.
When packaging/shipping batteries in boxes, drums or pails, make sure they are closed and secured to the pallet.
Close and secure the battery drums and pails so they do not open during shipping. Use tape on the pails. Tape all lithium battery terminals.
Shrink wrap all the layers heavily to properly secure around the pallet, making sure the shrink wrap is all the way down around the pallet itself. Always use a heavy-duty pallet with two by four supports. Always put cracked batteries in drums.
The drums, pails or containers should be labeled while they are stored. The label on the container should say "Universal Waste Batteries: and have a start accumulation date on the containers that states the first date the batteries were placed in the container.
PLEASE NOTE: If you do not have a loading dock or lift truck to load the battery containers, Battery Solutions, Inc. must arrange for special equipment which will require a special quote. Also, notify us if you do not have an asphalt or concrete loading dock pit ramp. Please inform us before you package the batteries.
When shipping the batteries, the labels should read "DRY CELL BATTERIES FOR RECYCLING". Each container should have a SHIP TO:

Put a packing list envelope or bill of lading in or on the container that states "DRY CELL BATTERIES FOR RECYCLING" and Battery Solutions, Inc.'s SHIP TO ADDRESS.
Under the Universal Waste Law, you must notify Battery Solutions, Inc. when you are sending a shipment of Universal Waste Batteries to us. We will assign a batch tracking number to the shipment.
Your option: Battery Solutions, Inc. will have the battery containers picked up at your site or you can ship the batteries to Battery Solutions, Inc.
