Do you provide documentation of the batteries recycled?
Yes. BSI provides Letters of Certified Recycling, which document proper recycling protocol per state and federal regulations. The residential iRecycle Kit 5 and iRecycle Kit 12 products do not include a Certificate of Recycling.

What types of batteries and other materials can I put into a Battery Solutions collection container?
All BSI collection containers are designed for batteries such as: alkaline, primary lithium (please tape the terminals or put in a separate baggie), nickel cadmium, nickel metal hydride, lithium ion, small sealed lead acid (please tape the terminals) and other household dry-cell batteries. You may also utilize the container for cellular phones, pagers, wireless communication devices (such as PDAs and MP3s), chargers, portable tools, laptops and any other handheld electronic devices that are designed to operate on battery power.

Do you offer a dry-cell collection container that is visually attractive to display?
Yes. Battery Solutions sells clear collection tubes that go hand in hand with our collection containers. They’re very attractive and offer a great way to display your “green” efforts. These containers are available for purchase on this website. Click Here.

What is a Battery Solutions iRecycle Kit?
Our new iRecycle Kits are pre-paid, all-inclusive recycling kits. Each iRecycle Kit purchase includes: a collection container, EPA-approved recycling of all materials, shipping charges, recycling instructions, and a Certificate of Recycling. iRecycle Kits are available for purchase on this website. iRecycle Kit includes a Certificate of Recycling Request Card that customer fills out and sends in with filled kit.

Do you buy batteries?
There are certain types of batteries BSI will purchase in large quantities. It depends on the type of battery, quantity, and generator location. Please call or e-mail us for current pricing. Contact Us.

Does Battery Solutions offer nationwide logistics/transportation services?
Yes. BSI is capable of de-installation, removal, packaging, loading, and transportation of all accepted materials, in all 50 States, under any circumstances.

Do I have to pay shipping costs for bulk recycling?
Yes, in most cases. There are some cases in which BSI will pay shipping charges for large volume shipments. It depends upon the type of battery, quantity, and generator location. However, our SmartRecycle System and iRecycle Kits are all-inclusive programs, therefore, they do include shipping charges. Please contact a BSI representative if you require additional information.

For my large shipment of batteries, will you provide the necessary shipping documents?
Yes, our transportation department will provide you with all necessary documents and labeling per US - DOT regulations. The transportation of the batteries will be covered by our five-million-dollar pollution legal liability insurance policy.

How do I calculate the weight of my shipment?
All batteries shipped to our facility will be weighed and charged accordingly using BSI scale weights.

Does State and/or Federal law require me to recycle my batteries?
The Federal Government mandates that certain battery chemistries be recycled. Furthermore, some states have adopted mandatory battery recycling guidelines. However, businesses and government entities are positively required to properly manage their waste streams.

I’d like to send BSI one “non-spillable” Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS) battery. How do I do this?
You may ship a box of up to 150-pounds on your own using FedEx Ground or UPS Ground. Please follow our packaging instructions and make sure you label your box as containing a non-spillable battery. We can provide this label if needed. Please do not send wet cell batteries by this method.

What is the Battery Solutions SmartRecycle System?
The SmartRecycle System is a fully-managed, on-going recycling program designed to make your battery recycling as easy and hassle-free as possible. You can use this system to collect all dry-cell batteries, cell-phones, and other handheld electronic devices for recycling. We handle all necessary logistics, shipping, receiving, sorting, recycling and proper documentation. The program features include U. N. approved containers, EPA approved recycling of all materials, recycling instructions, awareness posters, automatic re-ordering, next-day shipping, online tracking, online pick-up requests, and Certificate of Recycling.

Do you require a minimum order quantity to start a SmartRecycle System?
Yes. In order to qualify for this program, you must start with a minimum first-time purchase of five (5) containers.

The SmartRecycle System gives you three collection container types from which to choose: 1) an attractive box that holds approximately 40-pounds of material, 2) a medium-sized plastic pail that holds approximately 35-pounds of material, and 3) a large-sized pail that holds approximately 55-pounds of material. All SmartRecycle containers are U.N. approved shipping containers.

How do I handle labeling the containers?
Each collection container has an area for customers to write an accumulation start date to assure compliance with state regulations. You may store the container for up to one year from the start of accumulation of recyclables.

Does Battery Solutions accept large bulk shipments of batteries and other accepted materials?
Yes. We have recycling programs to suit all needs from large to small.

What types of containers are acceptable for a bulk recycling program?
