  2. What are the benefits of your recycling program?

    By recycling your batteries and other acceptable materials, you can keep in compliance with current environmental regulations, manage your waste stream properly in a cost-effective manner, and limit your exposure to liability. This will allow you to set a good example for others to keep our environment healthy.

  3. What type of recyclable material does Battery Solutions (BSL) accept?

  4. Does State and/or Federal law require me to recycle my batteries?

    The Federal Government mandates that certain battery chemistries be recycled. Furthermore, some states have adopted mandatory battery recycling guidelines. However, businesses and government entities are positively required to properly manage their waste streams.

  5. Do you provide documentation showing the batteries were recycled?

    Yes. BSL provides Confirmation of Reclamation letters which document proper recycling protocol per state and federal regulations to non-residential customers.   Business’ utilizing our Kit program must fill out the “COR Card” (Certificate of Recycling Request Card) to receive their Recycling Certificate.  The only exceptions are the residential iRecycle Kit 5 and iRecycle Kit 12 products which do not include a Certificate of Recycling.

  6. What types of programs are offered by Battery Solutions?

    Battery Solutions strives to offer programs to fit our customer's needs. We offer a single order iRecycle kit program for spent batteries/electronics. We offer an auto renew SRS program for spent batteries/electronics. Battery Solutions offers removal and recycling services for Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS) batteries. We also accept bulk shipments of spent batteries, electronics and other Universal Waste.

  7. Do you offer a dry-cell collection container that is visually attractive to display?

    Yes. Battery Solutions sells clear blue tinted collection tubes that go hand in hand with our collection containers. They’re very attractive and offer a great way to display your “green” efforts. The tubes are for collection only and cannot be used as a shipping container. Collection tubes are available for purchase on this website.  Click Here.

  8. What types of batteries and other materials can I put into a Battery Solutions collection container?

    All BSL collection containers are designed for batteries such as: alkaline, primary lithium (please tape the terminals or put in a separate baggie), nickel cadmium, nickel metal hydride, lithium ion, small sealed lead acid (please tape the terminals) and other household dry-cell batteries. You may also utilize the container for cellular phones, pagers, wireless communication devices (such as PDAs and MP3s), chargers, portable tools, laptops and any other handheld electronic devices that are designed to operate on battery power.

  9. What is a Battery Solutions iRecycle Kit?

    The Battery Solutions iRecycle Kits are pre-paid, all-inclusive recycling kits. Each iRecycle Kit purchase by a business includes: a collection container, EPA-approved recycling of all materials, shipping charges, recycling instructions, and a COR Card (Certificate of Recycling Request Card) that can be filled out so the business can receive a Confirmation of Recycling for their environmental records.  The residential kit includes the same except the COR Card which is not currently required for residential recycling.   iRecycle Kits are available for purchase on this website.  Click here

  10. What types of containers are available with an iRecycle Kit?

    iRecycle Kits come in five collection container types from which to choose: 1) an attractive household box for smaller residences that holds approximately 5-pounds of material,  2) an attractive small box designed for residential households and small business that holds approximately 12-pounds of material, 3) an attractive medium-sized box that holds approximately 40-pounds of material, 4) a medium-sized plastic pail that holds approximately 35-pounds of material, and 5) a large-sized pail that holds approximately 55-pounds of material.

  12. What is the Battery Solutions SmartRecycle System?

    The SmartRecycle System is a fully-managed, on-going recycling program designed to make your battery recycling as easy and hassle-free as possible. You can use this system to collect all dry-cell batteries, cell-phones, and other handheld electronic devices for recycling. We handle all necessary logistics, shipping, receiving, sorting, recycling and proper documentation. The program features include U. N. approved containers, EPA approved recycling of all materials, recycling instructions, awareness posters, automatic re-ordering, next-day shipping, online tracking, online pick-up requests, and Certificate of Recycling.

  13. What types of containers are available for use with a SmartRecycle System?

    The SmartRecycle System gives you three collection container types from which to choose: 1) an attractive box that holds approximately 40-pounds of material, 2) a medium-sized plastic pail that holds approximately 35-pounds of material, and 3) a large-sized pail that holds approximately 55-pounds of material. All SmartRecycle containers are U.N. approved shipping containers.

  16. I’d like to send BSL one “non-spillable” Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS) battery. How do I do this?

    Call 800-852-8127 or Email our Customer Service department (customerservice@batteryrecycling.com) and they can give you the most up to date information on shipping your battery as well as log it into our receiving system.

  18. How do I handle labeling the containers?

    All collection containers purchased from Battery Solutions are fully labeled when you receive them. The customer only needs to fill in the "start accumulation" date on the container to assure compliance with state and federal regulations. You may store the container for up to one year from the start of accumulation of recyclables. If shipping containers not purchased from Battery Solutions, please contact our customer service department for labeling information. We can send you the labels necessary if needed.

  19. Does Battery Solutions accept large bulk shipments of batteries and other accepted materials?

    Yes. We have recycling programs to suit all needs from large to small.

  20. What types of containers are acceptable for a bulk recycling program?

    Acceptable containers include all sizes of metal and plastic drums, pallets, gaylord boxes, overpacks, etc. If you’re unsure about an acceptable container type, please call or e-mail one of our representatives. Contact Us.

  21. Do I have to pay shipping costs for bulk recycling?

    Yes, in most cases. There are some cases in which BSL will pay shipping charges for large volume shipments. It depends upon the type of battery, quantity, and generator location. However, our SmartRecycle System and iRecycle Kits are all-inclusive programs, therefore, they do include shipping charges. Please contact a BSL representative if you require additional information.

  22. Does Battery Solutions offer nationwide logistics/transportation services?

    Yes. BSL is capable of de-installation, removal, packaging, loading, and transportation of all accepted materials, in all 50 States, under any circumstances.

  23. For my large shipment of batteries, will you provide the necessary shipping documents?

    Yes, our transportation department will provide you with all necessary documents and labeling per US - DOT regulations. The transportation of the batteries will be covered by our fifteen-million-dollar pollution legal liability insurance policy.

  24. How do I calculate the weight of my shipment?

    All batteries shipped to our facility will be weighed and charged accordingly using BSL scale weights. Scales are certified twice yearly.

  25. Which credit cards do you accept?

    BSL accepts Visa, MasterCard, and American Express.

  26. Do you buy batteries?
